What is genetic engineering and its scope

Genetic engineering is the branch of biology that deals with the modifications of the genomes of the organisms by the use of biotechnology. It is one of the important factors in today's time. By the help of the genetic engineering we can modify the organisms out structure completely and can also develop completely new organisms by crossing the genes extracted from one organism to another.
By the help of this technology we can easily develop the organism with required characters easily and quickly. In the same way it can also help to increase the life rate of a baby at its mom womb before it is born. It changes the DNA in our body due to which we are able to form a new living organism. We can change the future if we are able to select and decide the genes and put it onto our body in a selective way. Some of the religious as well as the conservative people also think it as a form of the social hindrance and against the nature. While scientist also think that it can cause the most serious problems resulting in the global warming and food scarcity. The organisms that are obtained by this technology are called genetically modified organisms. (GMO). The bacteria was the first organism that was produced genetically in 1973. In the same way the new modifications of the organisms with special features can also be drawn by this process.
By this process many cross genes organisms has been created. It has been tried to many organisms and all that give a successful income. Golden rice, humalin, weedkiller resistance are some examples.
Today it has given a top regard and is importance is slowly analyzed by the people. It has a huge scope given today. The person with M.sc in bio genetic engineering can easily find the job in many eastern and western countries with a good salary. It has huge demand world wide.
