Eukaryotic cell without mitochondria

Eukaryotic cells are those cells having well developed nucleus. They are mostly present in well developed organisms. They possess all important cell organelles but a latest study has shown a slight different that changed the concept and attitude of the people well it the study had shown that the mitochondria is absent in a specific type of eukaryotic cell microbe that live in the guts of chinchilla. Mitochondria are the power house of the cell as they release energy in the form of STP or ATP.It is really amazing as well as surprising to hear that. Not only mitochondria releases energy but it also helps in the respiration so it fulfills it through anaerobic respiration it the cell is named as monocercomonoides .It also replaces many other fuction of mitochondria. It too helps in the assembly of iron and sulphur clusters.
